The comprehensive campaign will preserve our historic campus, address critical space issues, provide for classroom technology investments, and grow the endowment to secure the future of Sacred Heart education.
Duchesne Academy has launched a comprehensive campaign, A Bold Step Forward, to expand and preserve its campus, provide for major investments in classroom technology, and keep tuition predictable.
Capital improvements will include a new Student Life Center to house a new gymnasium, a new cafeteria, and a commercial-grade kitchen. The school’s chapel will undergo a preservation process to restore its original Thomas Kimball design and its auditorium will transform into a state-of-the-art theatre. The campaign has already secured $20 million toward its goal of $43 million.
“This campaign is our promise to current and future students, alumnae, our employees, and friends of the school that Duchesne Academy will continue to provide the best education possible for young women in Omaha,” said Meg Brudney, Head of School.
Early gifts have enabled the school to deliver on some of the campaign’s priorities. Work began in July to preserve the school’s chapel and to transform its auditorium into a modern theater. Classrooms originally built in 1930 have been expanded into modern, open spaces with more renovations planned in the coming years.
“We are blessed with a supportive community that understands the value of a Sacred Heart education and the doors it can open. I invite everyone to read more about our vision for Duchesne Academy and to consider the ways they can help us reach our goals,” said Brudney.
