Chapel

The Chapel serves not only as the spiritual center of the school but also as a focal point for our students, faculty and administration, alumnae, and visitors. While preserving the integrity and beauty of this sacred space, the Chapel has been adapted to accommodate the entire student body and to highlight its unique architectural features. Construction on the Chapel wrapped up in 2023.

Preservation plans included repairs to the damaged plaster, increased seating, improved lighting, and architectural enhancements to highlight the history of Duchesne and the Religious of the Sacred Heart in Omaha.

Duchesne has retained Omaha-based liturgical and spiritual design expert Brother William Woeger as a consultant on this project. Br. Woeger ensured the work preserves the sanctitude of the space, honors its original Thomas Kimball design.
